Being part of the Creative Presentations team, over the past year I have been asked to design many eLearning module storyboards in PowerPoint. I, of course, love PowerPoint, mainly because it’s collaborative — anyone can get involved in the development of a deck.

However, the next part of the eLearning development process has always been cumbersome. Converting the PowerPoint to an eLearning Module can be time consuming and complex, often requiring specialists to convert it into HTML or Articulate formats.

We now have experience in a tool called iSpring.

iSpring is a plug-in for PowerPoint that can convert a PPT deck into an HTML package. This can then be used as an eLearning module within any Learning Management System (LMS), which are often similar to the format of Vita.

Efficiency is a big benefit in comparison to traditional eLearning build methods, as the content is built in PowerPoint, allowing the whole project team being able to edit the majority of the content without specialist skills or tools.
